Naming of the Penguin Competition WINNER...Emily Luxford of Lakeview School

Sparky is the new name gifted to our JNS penguin mascot thanks to Emily Luxford of Lakeview School! Emily was the winner of an awesome 32GB ipod touch for completing our 'naming of the penguin' competition which started at the beginning of term 2 and was announced on Friday the 12th of July 2013. 

There were over 100 entries from children and young people living in the Wairarapa District and we were so amazed with the colourful and creative competition forms sent into us. It was not an easy task to choose a winner so I had to ask the JNS ambassadors from Masterton Primary, Fernridge School and Lakeview to help me out. A shortlist of names was made and a voting process put in place for the Ambassadors to choose their overall favorite!! Of the votes SPARKY was the winner!!!

JNS would like to say a big THANK YOU to our funders Masterton District Council, Trust House, Police Blue Light and National Neighbourhood Support for their contribution and support.

COME CELEBRATE WHANAU DAY this SUNDAY!!!

JNS will be at FAMILY/WHANAU day being held at the Genesis Recreation Centre this Sunday 19th of May 2013, 11.30am - 2.30pm! 

Come along...there are LOTS of games for the kids to participate in and HEAPS of information for the parents to take away with them. There will be many local agencies attending and many spot prizes to be won.

The pools will be open to the families who attend, so bring ya togs!!!

Keep an eye out for the penguin...there will be lots to do...chocolate fish to be eaten and prizes to be won!!!

Wow...what an awesome day!! JNS launched its programme at Fernridge School today and what an awesome crowd of kids we met in their assembly. 

I introduced four JNS Ambassadors today and presented them with their JNS hoodies!! They are Kayarna Jones Dennes, Becky Cundy, Ethan Wallace and Jayden Watt!!! These Ambassadors will be the eyes and ears of JNS within the school for me and also represent Fernridge at certain events we have.

We look forward to working with Fernridge and cant wait to hear what neat stories come out of the nominations being made.
